DPP ClosureDeveloping Patient Partnerships (DPP) will be closing this summer. Our Department of Health funding ends in April 2008 and will not be renewed and the lack of significant funds from other sources means that DPP will not be able to earn sufficient income to continue.
We have been running for over 11 years and in that time have campaigned tirelessly to keep self care and health education at the top of the agenda and in the public eye. We believe our expertise has contributed to health education strategies for Strategic Health Authorities, Primary Care Trusts and workplaces and influenced the way the NHS and others have thought about health education.
DPP Farewell Conference Thursday 19th June 2008, RSA, LondonDPP will be having a farewell conference on Thursday, 19 June 2008 “Driving Health Education: Are vested interests influencing our health behaviours?” being held at the Royal Society of Arts, London. The aim of the conference is to celebrate the work of the DPP over the last 11 years and to consider the increasing need for local and national health education strategies against current levels of focus and investment in the UK.
The conference will highlight our work delivering dynamic health education campaigns in primary care, the workplace, schools and to the general public. Kirsty Lang, TV presenter and Broadcaster will chair the event and also lead a discussion on which heath education model will be fit for purpose in the future. Many local and national health education success stories will also be presented.
Attendance is by invitation. If you are interested in receiving more information please contact:
